This week in 2A....

We celebrated our published realistic fiction pieces with a compliment party!

Penguin Prototypes!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day. We had some 4th grade visitors read and do a fun activity with us.

The Show Me Jumpers performed for us Friday morning. We are now ready to kick off our annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser!

This week we investigated the properties of the materials we will be using to build our prototypes of penguin habitats.

What Makes Us the United States

We wrapped up our current chapter, 'What Makes Us the United States.' This week the kids made quilt squares which represented a symbol, landmark, document, or holiday in the United States. They had to draw the item, then tell write and tell the class why their symbol represented the United States. The class did a great job and the quilt is now on display outside our classroom.

Social Studies this week

This week in social studies we have focused on these three words: democracy, equality, and individual freedoms. We worked in groups this week to define one of the words and illustrate what the words meant to each group.
