Winter Party!

 Thank you to RSA and 2nd grade room parents for providing the bead snowflake craft and rice krispie treats. We enjoyed spending time with friends in our pj's today as well!

We are published authors!

Today we officially became published authors! Over the past few weeks (and thanks to your help from home!) we were able to finish writing and "fancying up" our favorite non-fiction writing piece. We read each other's pieces and left compliments for the authors. We also got to sit in the author's chair and read our non-fiction pieces to the class. Congratulations authors! 

Maps!

 As part of our social studies unit students were asked to create a map of a "dream " town. The kids needed to add a compass rose and map key. They were also asked to justify a business they added to a town by explaining what want or need the business provided. The class LOVED this project and begged for extra time to work on them. We enjoyed sharing them with the class. It was then requested as create a "huge" town combining all the maps. We did so on the bulletin board outside of our classroom.
